Details of the Arrest and Legal Charges

Jyoti Malhotra was arrested by the Hisar police and booked under Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The court has sent her to five days of police remand. The investigation is now with the Economic Offences Wing for further inquiry.

Connection with Pakistani High Commission Staff

According to the FIR registered by Sub-Inspector Sanjay at the Hisar Civil Lines Police Station, Jyoti Malhotra met Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, an employee of the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi during her 2023 visit.

Communication and Espionage Links

Danish allegedly acted as her handler, introducing her to Pakistani Intelligence Operatives (PIOs). She maintained regular communication with them through encrypted platforms.

Alleged Travel with Intelligence Operative

Jyoti Malhotra also allegedly traveled to Bali, Indonesia, with one of the Pakistani intelligence operatives, indicating a deeper level of involvement.

A video was recorded during her meeting with the Pakistan High Commission employee, which is part of the evidence.

Arrest of Others in the Network

Jyoti Malhotra was arrested along with six others for sharing sensitive information with Pakistani agents.
